DS - armor concept 2

DS - armor concept

There will prolly be more of these coming. We went to a Borders that was closing down and there was a art book for the Darksiders (don't know anything about the game) with a bunch of awesome armor designs.  Also, I got a copy of Comic Book Tattoo for 26.00. So exciting. It's brilliant.

DS - gestures

Boo, this is all I have time for today. The strange-looking figure in front is some sort of lemur, I think?

2.24.2011

DS - comb gesture

Gesture using primarily the comb brush.

DS - occupant 1

Another concept for my animation final. I'm struggling with the symbolism and conveying my meaning. Starting from this sketch, my sketches will be less-than-an-hour concepts. I've been posting basically anything for it, and I wanted to narrow it a little, and keep them loose, or at least fast. Plus I've been spending more time on the comic, and this will make me take up less time with my DS's.

DS - hand study

Hand study drawn by erasing.

DS - Comic Excerpt

Just a preview of what I've been doing...which is drawing a lot of clouds for the graphic novel. Furiously working on it -- the plan is to start publishing it online once we have fifty pages. Wish us luck! More concept art for my animation, game, and Cower-related things to come in the near future, I hope.

DS - Hourglass Tattoo

Design mock-up for my sister. Still have tweaks to make to it.

2.19.2011

DS - train concept/storyboard sketch

Quick concept sketch for my animation final storyboard. I'm still trying to figure out what it is, but I'll probably be posting a lot of these in the coming week(s).

DS - animal gestures

Been working a lot on the comic, so the updates here will probably lessen. I'll start posting that up online once we get a few chapters done, so stay tuned?

DS - Digger

Forgot to upload this last night. Really need to work on creatures, so that's probably what my DS's for the next while will be. This is a digger as tamed/enslaved by the underdwellers.

DS - Island Trees

Improvement Meme

This just gives me some validation that, yes, I actually am getting better. Ignore the early images. They're pretty painful to look at.

DS - tattoo mock-up

This is just a mock-up for the tattoo I want to get, eventually. Once I actually perfect this. I think my scarab looks kind of silly, for some reason. Going to play with that. Also, I might make the wing part more fluid. And make the hourglass look more hourglassy. I've a lot more to work on, is what I'm saying, I guess.

DS - Environment Sketch

DS - Alex Blink

She looks so pissed. It's prolly 'cause of Gwen. It's always 'cause of Gwen. Just playing with Flash nonsense, frame-by-frame.

DS - undermeaning treeheart

I know I want poetry to play a part in this, I'm just trying to figure out how I want them to do that. Words courtesy of Edna St. Vincent Millay.

DS - Winter Clock

More superhero(villian?)s! Yay.

2.07.2011

DS - Doctor

Just a quick sketch in Alchemy. We were watching this movie. It had to be done.

Don't get strung out by the way I look, don't judge a book by it's cover--
I'm not much of a man by the light of day, but by night I'm one hell of a lover!

Laser Brace

You know how two opposite magnets repel each other? And if you have them just perfect, they sort of hover over each other? Well, this uses a really advanced version of that technology, with gloves as one magnetic force, and the brace as the other. That way, they're weightless laser-shooting-things, and they follow the arm as it moves. That's the idea, anyway.

DS - Fire Abstract

Just playin'.

DS - space

A little heavy on the clouds here. I realize that. Just practicing spacey pictures, since I have very little experience with them.

iShip v2.0

DS - undermeaning environments

Messing with more backgrounds/styles/wording.

2.03.2011

DS - skeleton hand study

Photoshop, minimal use of texture brushes.

DS - Nutrapi

Working with SketchBookPro.

DS - Abstract

I strike again! I can't believe I fell off the bandwagon on this already. To be fair, Tuesdays and Thursdays are my busiest days, and my fig drawing teacher wanted me to draw on paper today. But I still broke my streak. I'm trying.

This was fun to do, because it forced me to work with brushes and get accustomed to them without overthinking things. And just making pretty colors. Yay, pretty colors!
